Bottom Line: Edutopia is amazing! When you combine Education and Utopia, you have set high standards, and this site delivers.
As you can see from the header above, the site divides it's content into topics (articles), videos, and community (forums, blogs, etc). I suggest starting with Edutopia's Core Concepts: |
There were just SO MANY articles and videos, so I selected three that really caught my attention. I chose one from each subheading: Topics, Videos and Community.
Low Stakes WritingIn the Schools that Work section, one video and article that hooked me immediately was "Low Stakes Writing". At University Park school in Worchester, MA, students write in each class and use it in all disciplines. The article provides 5 strategies to make it work and a lot of examples. I would love to implement this in the classroom.

Which App is Best?In the Classroom Technology section, Beth Holland , an EdTech teacher, explains the various methods teachers can use technology to share notes, assignment and projects. With so much out there, it isn't really a question of "this" or "that" but what fits the desired assignment and what you want to accomplish. Great food for thought!

New TeachersFor new teachers , Rebecca Alber gives 6 Opening and Closing Routines for New Teachers. I found this blog in the Community section, so this section should not be overlooked as your typical internet discussion board.
