Week 14 Review:
TECHNOLOGY 101 SKILLS FOR TEACHERS NOVEMBER 20, 2016 by SHELLY FRYER Shelly Fryer's blog (linked above) contains some outstanding ideas to leverage technology in creative and artistic ways. The point being to have technology support and enhance vs learning how to use technology. |
Great ideas featured in this blog:
In using Enriched Assessment and Experiential Learning, Mrs. Fryer leverages Technology to have students show what they have learned. It also gives them experience creating and using appropriate applications. Some examples were the Paper slide show (tutorial seen above) and the Classroom Radio Show, which can be found on her class site.

Setting up a classroom homepage seems like a no-brainer today. What I appreciate about Mrs. Fryer's approach is the format is very clean (wiki-style) and has all the link and videos up front. For someone like me, with a propensity to the less cluttered and less complicated, that is a definite plus. |
"Teachers need to learn vocabulary terms for iPads and apps, which include things like: 1. Share Square, 2. Hamburger tool, 3. Save to Camera Roll, 4. Workflow, 5. Home Button, 6. Screenshot, 7. Photo Roll" - Shelly Fryer As teachers using Technology, we have to keep learning. And that includes vocabulary. In the Elementary Grades, we can teach children that baseline vocabulary and set out students up for success in the later grades.
