CanVaDesign | App | Graphics
Bottom line up front: I did not like this app. I started out attempting this app on my iPad and when not much seemed either intuitive or easy I moved to a desktop (Mac). I watched all the videos and even searched for other tutorials and still, I was having difficulty. This app may just not work for me, or it may be some of the functionality of the app, because it seemed to freeze up a lot or not respond. My only option was a lot of "undo" and exit. Below I will try to address some of the aspect of the App below. |
It appears that price is not a big issue. I could upload all the photos I wanted to add them to projects, so I wouldn't anticipate spending any money. If you did want something in a flash and didn't want to hunt around, then a buck or two seems reasonable. I'm sure it can add up.
I am not confident right now that I could show a kid what to do with this, and since I think it's terrible, I wouldn't have much credibility attempting this in the classroom. I suppose any student that can use an iPad and has the manual dexterity to manipulate some of the features could do it. Grades 4-6 seem appropriate. However, they would need a level of maturity above my own because my frustration was high with this app.
Canva is available on the iPad and Mac, and also a PC.
Pros are that if you wanted to create something from the existing templates, it would be very easy to follow along.
Cons (for me) were that it seemed less intuitive than other apps (even on the desktop) and locked up a lot.
Teachers can use it for poster, social media graphics, and even presentations.
I'd like to see what someone actually does with this and I'll hold off final judgement until that.
